Junior Achievement

Junior Achievement (JA) is an international organization founded in 1919 to give youths early entrepreneural experience. Its mission is to inspire and prepare young people to succeed in a global economy. JA has to-date created its impact on almost 30 thousand youths.

The Southern Alberta Branch of JA was established in 1960, and currently offers a variety of programs for grades 4-12 that provide entrepreneurship, financial literacy, and work experience opportunities in fun, engaging, and focused educational programs. In these programs, working, adult professionals work directly with the youth in interactive programs and activities to connect business concepts to real-life scenarios for these youths.

JA has three major values

JA prepares you with the skills you need in a work environment!
Entrepreneurship
JA provides opportunities to learn about what businesses need to be successful!
Wrapped Candy
Why does this matter to you-- and Snaqit?
Snaqit is founded within JA's Company Program. This program is an 18-week program for high school students to take leadership and build their own company. This program teaches students about all aspects of business, from production all the way to sales, and the management experiences in between. It is a good opportunity to learn about business because it provides students with a hands-on experience working to create their very own business.
